AlleyBAR welcomes Canadian Rock Band The Trews
Band to perform Dec. 2 with Hail the Titans and the Poison Kitchen
On Dec. 2, AlleyBAR welcomes Canadian rock band The Trews. The band is playing in Montgomery as part of their 2011 U. S. Residency Tour, and will be performing alongside Hail the Titans and the Poison Kitchen.
The show begins at 10 p.m. and there is a $10 cover.
When The Trews graced the cover of Performer Magazine earlier this year, they were called, “without a doubt, the greatest rock band of their generation.” The magazine added, “It’s just a shame that this fact has been lost on U.S. audiences.” The band is seeking to change that.
They are currently touring for “Hope and Ruin,” their fourth studio album released this year on Universal/Bumstead recordings. They recently returned to North America from tours in Australia and the United Kingdom.
Hail the Titans is an instrumental rock band based in Montgomery and performs around the Southeast. Their album “Hymns of Mare Nostrum” also was released this year, and the Capital City Free Press called it “a true musical highlight,” and the Montgomery Advertiser called it “a fantastic mix of music and noise.”
The Poison Kitchen, from Birmingham, describes their sound as “digital, progressive post-rock.” The band recently opened a show for progressive rock band Animals as Leaders at Zydeco in Birmingham.
“We’re truly excited to be able to share the stage with these great bands in our hometown,” said Josh Carples of Hail the Titans. “And we appreciate Alley Bar for allowing diverse, original music to be showcased.”
Alley Bar is located at 166 Commerce Street.
